Lead a Connect Group
Our leader covenant and how to get started.
New connect groups pop up all the time at Long Hollow. All Connect Group leaders are asked to follow the "Leader Covenant" listed below.
If you are interested in leading a connect group, please contact Derek Hazelet and let us know!
Leadership Commitment
- I acknowledge the lordship of Jesus Christ in my life and commit to have a personal relationship with Him that is foundational to everything I am and do.
- I understand that my role as a leader in the church will give me greater influence with those in my class. With greater influence comes greater responsibility. I commit to live by biblical standards.
"Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." James 3:1
- I understand that a Connect Group is "Fellowship around the Word of God". Our goal is to reach people for Jesus Christ and through relationships develop them into His fully devoted followers. This includes Bible Study, Fellowship, Evangelism, and Caring for the needs of those in the class.
"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13
- I commit to be active in the life of the church.
- I commit (1) to be on time and to be well prepared to lead my class, and (2) to be present no less than 75% of the time.
- I commit to abstain from alcohol.
- I commit to regularly pray for my class.
- I commit to attend regularly scheduled leadership meetings and to teach material that has been approved by the church leadership.
