Millions of women silently carry the pain and heartache of a previous abortion. God doesn't want you "stuck" and hiding from Him and others in your shame and secrecy of an abortion(s). Find His forgiveness and freedom by allowing Him to start healing and repair the brokenness in your life.
Most women and men (including teens) do not realize the negative impact an abortion will have on them. This negative impact, called post-abortion syndrome (PAS), can be lifelong. Some symptoms of PAS include guilt, depression, fear, intense feelings of loneliness, eating disorders, drug/alcohol addiction or interference with future bonding of children and spouse. "I was engaged to be married in 1977 when I discovered I was pregnant. How could we explain that to our friends and family? Abortion was suggested as the logical quick fix to our "problem". I was told "don't cry, honey, when you wake up it will all be over with and you can go on with your life and never think about this again." I lived the next 23 years of my life thinking about it every day. I carried the pain, shame, and guilt for as long as I could. Then I was told about a Bible study that exposed the lies I believed. Surrendering the Secret helped me exchange those lies for God's truth. Now I have truly accepted God's forgiveness through Christ. Through this journey, the years wasted were restored and I have found freedom, forgiveness, and unconditional love."
Since 1973 when Roe vs.Wade legalized abortion, over 50 million lives have been lost to abortion in U.S. Today, 43% of women in the U.S. will have had an abortion by age 45 (> 1 million abortions occur each year in the U.S.). The lies that we are given about abortion are the reasons why men & women continue to choose abortion over life for their unborn child. These lies must be exposed & the truth spoken in love of what abortion really is and what it does to families. Take a look at these common lies that we as a society believed about abortion.
This summer, we will offer a post-abortion recovery Bible study called Surrendering the Secret by Pat Layton. With compassion, this study lovingly shows women that they can replace the enemy's lies with God's truths and find the healing and freedom He desires. Weekly classes begin Monday, June 6th, from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the leader's home and will meet for 10 weeks.
