Introducing Long Hollow's Missions Partnerships

The Daniels Family
Marc & Kristen Daniels - Avondale, Louisiana

Marc has been the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Avondale since February of 2001, and he serves side-by-side with Kristen, who leads worship. FBC Avondale is the very church where Kristen was raised and where Marc was saved 14 years ago.

FBC Avondale is actively engaged in reaching the community of Avondale, Louisiana (on the Westbank of New Orleans) with the love of Jesus. Avondale is a transient lower income community devastated by sin. Broken lives are everywhere, and the effects of alcohol or drug abuse can be seen in nearly every home. This small Baptist church believes that the Lord can and will transform this broken community.

Since Hurricane Katrina devastated the New Orleans area, FBC Avondale has been closely involved in the restoration of the city. Since January of 2006, the church has served as a mission center, having housed and fed more than twenty mission crews.

Many years ago, Marc and Kristen prayed that the Lord would allow them to live lives of significance. God has been faithful to that prayer, and they thank Him every day for the opportunity to be in the center of His will and see His hand move in the lives of people all around them!

Marc and Kristen have three children - Jon Marc (10), Corinne (8) and Gideon (6).

The Wortman Family
Gerry Wortman - Prince Albert, Canada

Gerry Wortman pastors Scarborough Baptist Church in the city of Prince Albert. His church has a vision, "To be a church for all Nations and of all Nations." A major part of their vision is to establish new works where there is no evangelical witness. There are approximately 700 small towns and villages in Saskatoon that have no evangelical Bible study or church. They are seeking to establish a church in every town that has a school. Presently they sponsor works at Kinistino, Christopher Lake, Spruce Home, Red Wing, the Muskody First Nations Reserve and the Little Red River First Nations Reserve.

Another major emphasis of their church is to help reach Canada's First Nations (Indian and Metis) peoples for Christ. There are over 3,000,000 First Nations peoples in Canada of which less that 4% know Christ. Their main religion is tradition spiritism. One of the ways Gerry and the members of Scarborough Baptist reach into this people group is by hosting the annual wilderness camp. They take First Nations youth and children and for a few days just share the love of Jesus with them. Long Hollow has been a faithful partner to the Lord's work in both of these areas. They have seen a number of the young come to know Christ and are beginning to grow in their faith. Pray for us and come be a part of God's work in Canada.

The Puckett Family
Mark & Linda Puckett - Prince Edward Island, Canada

Middle Tennesseans, Mark & Linda Puckett, have been serving in Atlantic Canada with the North American Mission Board's Mission Service Corp (MSC) since April 2004. Mark is the pastor of King's Way Christian Fellowship in Montague, Prince Edward Island. Mark is the church's first pastor. King's Way has been given a former hardware store to call their home. Mission teams have spent four years helping convert the facility into a functioning church facility. The church intentionally targets those who are unchurched and most of those who call King's Way their church home previously had little or no church background. Linda serves at King's Way overseeing all children's ministries and an active Women's Ministry program.

Mark also serves in two roles with the Canadian Convention of Southern Baptists. As Church Starting Coordinator for Newfoundland, Mark is working to help begin the first Southern Baptist work on this island the size of Oklahoma. As Partnership/Volunteer Coordinator for Central & Eastern Canada, Mark is working with churches on both sides of the border to connect churches in ministry partnership to strengthen the Canadian churches and reach the lost in Canada for Christ.

The Pucketts have a 15 year old son, Hayden, with them in Canada, and two adult daughters living in Murfreesboro.

The Coe Family
Aaron and Carmen Coe - New York City

Aaron serves on mission in New York City, New York and is the lead pastor of The Gallery Church. He is married to Carmen, and they have a beautiful 4 month old son, Ezra.

The Gallery is a new church in Manhattan committed to displaying the greatness of God to the world. This missional church really only started meeting about a year ago. Originally gathering in an art gallery, they soon realized that they would need more space and moved to a local New York City high school auditorium. God has continued to bless this mission and this fall they officially kicked-off weekly services, activities, and programs.

The Gallery Church exists to actively reach the people of New York - the artists, students, and young professionals who call Manhattan home - through their weekly Gathering services located in the midtown community of Chelsea, through Growth Communities which are weekly small groups meeting in homes all over the city, and by establishing a Global strategy designed to mobilize their people to reach all of the towns and boroughs in the Manhattan metropolitan area.
