Alicia Linville, one of our college seniors at Tennessee Tech University, has been asked to serve this summer as the Women's Coordinator for 70 college students at Summer Mountain Project (SMP), where she has served for the last 2 summers. This is both an exciting and daunting opportunity for Alicia.
Summer Mountain Project (SMP) is an intensive, 10-week missions effort to reach thousands of staff and workers in the Pigeon Forge area during the summer months. This is through the dynamic ministry of Campus Outreach at Tennessee Tech. (Did you know that Dollywood is Tennessee's number one tourist attraction and that Pigeon Forge has over 9 million visitors throughout the year? If you've ever trudged through the traffic in Pigeon Forge, you're probably nodding your head right now.)
Because so many international visitors and US families spend their vacations in this area, the Summer Mountain Project is incredibly significant and important. Many people from around the US (and world!) travel to work here throughout these 10 weeks. (Last year, some of our LH college students built relationships with working Turkish students and shared Christ with them.) Alicia and the SMP team will work tirelessly to coordinate, train, lead, and mentor college students to evangelize and disciple fellow workers who are brought in to accommodate the large crowds. Every night of the week, SMP has a unique plan, event, or purpose. It's simply amazing!
Throughout the summer, Alicia will lead collegiates to learn more about studying the Bible, prayer, building relationships with other college students, sharing their faith, as well as how to do this all while working their full-time job. SMP will use First Baptist-Sevierville as “home base” during the summer.
Here's how we can help Alicia: We can help send her, and we can mightily pray for her.
If you are interested in investing in her summer, you can join her prayer team and/or financially support her by sending a check made to CAMPUS OUTREACH at her home address:
Alicia Linville
626 Neals Lane
Gallatin, Tn. 37066
Since Alicia will be working around 80 hrs per week in her coordinator's role, she needs to raise $4,200 to pay for her summer. (This includes food, rent, travel, ministry supplies, and salary.)
To receive updates and prayer requests or if you have any questions, please email Alicia at aelinville21@gmail.com or call her at (615) 804-9812. She says that she would love to send you updates and specific prayer requests!
This is our chance to respond to the call to partner, invest, and reach into Eternity!
Alicia Linville is currently student-teaching in a Special Education classroom and will graduate in May from Tennessee Tech.
