Lead a Small Group

Our leader covenant and how to get started.

Person Volunteering

We want to make the process of leading a small group as thorough and as simple as possible. So, if you are interested in leading any type of adult group, here is what you need to do:

1) Affirm your full compliance with the Small Group Leader Covenant (download and print a copy to return to the Group Life Office by clicking here):

  • I have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and acknowledge His lordship in my life, having committed to a personal relationship with Him that is foundational to everything I do.
  • I have been baptized by immersion and am a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church.
  • I agree to complete all required Leader Training and will comply with what is expected of a Small Group Leader.
  • I affirm by signing this covenant that I do not have problems in the following areas or disagreements with these expectations:
    • I do not have current habitual struggles or moral issues (drugs, alcohol, cohabitation, etc.) that would bring shame on the name of Jesus Christ or on Long Hollow Baptist Church.
    • I do not consume alcohol and I do not have alcohol in my home.
    • In addition, I am not experiencing any current, significant marital struggles (i.e. infidelity, separation, divorce in process, etc.)
    • Finally, I fully support Long Hollow Baptist Church's doctrinal statements without any reservation or addition as published

2) Visit http://learning.longhollow.com and complete the Small Group Leader Training module. Your successful completion of the module will automatically notify the Group Life Office and initiate the next step in the process.

3) Agree to lead your group with curriculum approved and/or provided by Long Hollow Baptist Church.

4) Participate regularly in Small Group Leadership Training as provided by the church.

5) Commit to reporting group attendance using the online attendance reporting system. In addition, group leaders are responsible for keeping track of group members and communicating with the Group Life Office as needs arise.

6) Small group leaders agree to enlist apprentice leaders and guide their groups to regularly create new groups.
