Intimate Allies is Long Hollow's marriage ministry! Ephesians 6:11 states: Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. There's a battle going on for the heart of marriages in our culture and we, as a church family, are taking a stand against the enemy! It's no wonder that the first relationship that God established at creation, to demonstrate the relationship within the Trinity, would be in the crosshairs of the Evil One. He hates us and wants to destroy us! We cannot be passive in the battle and expect to win! That is why we are going to address these issues head-on and we're coming at it with 3 major strategies for strengthening the home front: Preparation, Enrichment and Intervention/Recovery!
The first year of marriage is one of change! Much attention is given to the wedding day and it should be: the wedding marks a day in history where everything changes for the couple! That is why, in conjunction with planning the wedding day, we strongly encourage couples to invest time and study in getting to know what the bible says about marriage and how to incorporate biblical disciplines and the practice of the Word of God in our daily lives.
We offer assessments, pre-marital counseling and marriage mentors who will walk alongside couples through the first year of marriage. If you would like more information on our pre-marital classes at Long Hollow, contact Angie Hurst at angie.hurst@longhollow.com. For pre-marital counseling contact Julie.dunlap@longhollow.com. For marriage mentoring for newlyweds, contact twfinch@comcast.net or christy.ryan@longhollow.com.
Every marriage that is not growing is actually deteriorating. At Long Hollow, we want to be intentional in fighting for the heart of our marriages. And we need to know that we are not alone in the fight! So, in addition to all the opportunities to grow that our small groups and Real Life University offer, we are setting aside time in our schedule to honor and strengthen marriages throughout the calendar year. Through our Date Nights and Marriage Conferences and Retreats, we'll be offering regular opportunities to sharpen our relational skills and develop some new biblical strategies for relating as husband and wife!
Marriage Checkups are available by clicking here and we encourage you to utilize this tool that will give you valuable feedback for areas that need "tweaking". For more information about opportunities for marriage enrichment, visit this site regularly!
Perhaps your marriage has been injured in the battle. God has strategically placed within our fellowship those who have been where you are now and are ready to share hope and strength from their own story and to offer a confidential listening ear and word of encouragement to you! It's just like a loving God to do that for us! We will offer studies through Real Life University that will give you the opportunity to learn new ways of relating that are based on principles from God's Word. Marriage mentors are available in this area, as well as biblical guidance from pastors in our Membership and Recovery Department. For more information regarding intervention and recovery, call Julie Dunlap at the church office or email her at Julie.dunlap@longhollow.com.
